The Boy with the Golden Heart
The Boy with the Golden Heart
Part One: Transition to Sadhanna
An alien device implants itself into an innocent boy's body,
and transports him slightly sideways, into a very dangerous universe.
A boy named John, searching for scrap in the park, finds a glittering Golden Heart, palm sized and shaped like a starfish. When he puts it into his shirt pocket, the Heart automatically implants itself into his body. It then begins to study him, and slowly begins to enhance his talents, and his inclinations. Unfortunately for John, it also triggers a signal to transition to a new world, ruled by the makers of the Hearts.
John begins his journey in a society of potentially vicious inhabitants; Catapurs, an Army of Vladicons, Zymotars and Humankind. Soon he will meet the Ethereals, who have watched this earth from without for two thousand years, and feel a desperate need to set foot on it again.
Alone and naïve, in a world from which he cannot escape, John is in the centre of a war, millenniums old. But, something far more dangerous and angry is on the way to meet him. The previous owner of the Heart.
The Golden Heart meanwhile, continues to make John stronger, bestowing on him power that he sometimes cannot control, and causing him to make choices that may prove to be very good or very, very bad. He eventually discovers what it means to have to decide between heart and necessity.

The Boy with the Golden Heart - Part One - Transition to Sadhanna
When you're more powerful than anyone else, what do you do?
And what might they do to you?
The Gift: What if a young boy is implanted with a device that empowers him with the ability to accomplish almost anything that he decides he should do? But it might require some violence. The Problem: He is enhanced, but he is young. He has a moral background, but he is inexperienced. And he is alone in a strange world, with powers that will act on their own... using him... because he is only a host to the device. And the device has no ethics. It only knows survival.
The Stakes: Inexperience versus the death of a world, and all its inhabitants.
The Sacrifice: His Family. His Morality. His Life. The Question: What would you do?
The Reality: Heart versus Necessity.
